Report Maker's basic Windows interface is easy to use, yet borders on simplistic. For each report, you enter the pupil's (or employee's) name and their gender, which you can "hide" for privacy if needed. To fill in the report, simply choose a phrase on the right and click an arrow button to add the phrase to the report. The trial version includes some general statements ("Pupil X's attendance is excellent," for example) but you can add your own sound bites to fit your needs. Unfortunately, Report Maker doesn't include a print function, yet you can easily cut and paste reports into a text editor. The 30-day trial is more than sufficient to get familiar with Report Maker. Overall, for teachers who find themselves writing the same reports over and over again, this template generator could be a boon.
