Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffJune 21, 2005Morse Code has long since passed its heyday, but its fascination lives on. This program allows users to type text into the computer using the telegraph's old code, by entering long dashes and short dots, which are then transformed into letters. The program presupposes a knowledge of Morse Code, since no dictionary is included. New users likely will have some trouble finding the exact amount of time to pause between clicks in order to separate letters, although this delay sensitivity can be reconfigured. The results can be saved to a text file. We would have liked to see an option to convert text to Morse Code and back, rather than just the one-way feature. However, the program may still be helpful for anyone learning Morse Code who wants some practical experience.
