Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffSeptember 21, 2006This software tracks patient information for cholesterol and triglycerides management and offers guidelines for a healthier lifestyle, but it's not very user-friendly. At the onset, you need to divulge your name, birthday, and e-mail address before you can use the program, which may worry privacy-minded individuals. LessCaT's multipaneled interface is packed, but offers no tool tips or guide for using it. The menu bar and side-panel tabs are used for inputting patient information, including lab results, doctor's advice, medications, weight, and diet and exercise management. LessCaT charts your cholesterol and triglyceride readings in simple graphs. You can create appointment reminders, keep a health journal, and track down medical expenses with this program. What's more, it provides a glossary, as well as several guidelines and links to Web sites about exercise and fitness, diet, and even money-saving techniques. You can export your data into an XLS file. The 15-day trial period is a bit short for our tastes. Overall, LessCaT offers a great deal, but most users, especially novices, will want an easier-to-use health organizer.
