Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffJuly 8, 2005Many creative language programs are on the market, using clever games and teaching tools to help new words stick. This, unfortunately, isn't one of those programs. It primarily displays Japanese hiragana and katakana characters one after another, presumably so the learner can practice writing them, with the option of having the characters read automatically out loud. The letters move by at a relatively quick pace, with no option for changing the speed. The interface itself is a bit amateurish, with words blending into the edges of buttons. With a few more practical exercises and more options, this could certainly be a help to learners. However, as it is, we'd recommend most students look for an alternative.
