Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffMay 23, 2013Once glance at this freebie's name tells you exactly what it can do. The tabbed interface lets you choose among units of measurements such as power, weight, area, volume, length, and density. After you make that choice, drop-down menus allow you to select which specific units of measurement you'd like to convert. Unfortunately, the main window cannot be minimized to the system tray, which may annoy multitaskers. The utility not only supports common units of measurements, but also more exotic ones, such as British pints, imperial miles, and Biblical Hebrew shekels. Still, we found it odd that Unit Conversions 2000 cannot work with temperatures, and the fact that it creates two entries under Add/Remove Programs also is a bit strange. Those quibbles aside, this utility makes a good, utilitarian pick for most users who need a quick unit converter for no cash.
