To check a word, you only need to double-click it. The only disadvantage of the compact interface is that you can't pin the search bar over other windows. For faster lookup, the most common meanings come up first, but you can then expand the article. Articles are hyperlinked. You can also enlarge the dictionary base by adding your own dictionaries, word by word, or by importing from text files. The dictionary is helpful even if you have the paper variant.
