Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffMay 18, 2006This program aims to prevent repetitive strain injuries by switching the functions of keyboard keys, but doesn't offer features found in similar applications. RSI KeySwap's plain interface offers a simple menu and toolbar to help you create, modify, and save switches. The program is capable of switching up to 10 keys and has fields to designate the original key and the key you want to use in its place. You can select Activate KeySwaps to apply changes or Suspend KeySwaps to restore the key's original function. The concise help file was useful, but we would like to see more than two examples of switches and how they could benefit the user. As noted by the publisher, it takes some time to get used to the switches, although we like the option to have swapped keys flash when pressed to help you remember their new functionality. Unlike other programs, RSI KeySwap doesn't offer break reminders or exercises to further help you avoid computer-related injuries. All in all, users looking to prevent or recover from repetitive strain injuries might find this 21-day trial application worthwhile, but folks may want to sample similar programs offering more in-depth features.
