Home Audiometer's simple interface requires you to test your hardware's compatibility with the application and to calibrate your hardware before beginning any test, so a visit to the program's considerable help file is recommended. You'll need an appropriate sound card and a joystick, although you can use Ctrl-Key instead of a joystick. Grab a headset too. After calibration, we conducted the hearing test, which is graphically presented via an audiogram for both ears. Unfortunately, you can't save the test results for record-keeping purposes and you won't get a summary report. Those who want some basic information on their hearing may want to try Home Audiometer, but in no way should this time-consuming application be used as a substitute for a visit to a health professional.
