Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffSeptember 3, 2015The Holy Bible - New Testament is a truly subpar electronic edition of the Bible. Although there is nothing functionally wrong with it, its interface and lack of features make it a poor choice. The program displays the New Testament as one huge block of text. It is not at all obvious how (or even if) users can go directly to specific books or chapters. We spent a long time fiddling with the program and thinking that perhaps the only way to get through the New Testament was to scroll. Eventually we found a bookmark section that allowed us to move to specific books and chapters, but this isn't an obvious feature. We may have been able to figure this out more quickly if there had been a Help file of any sort, but there wasn't. Under a Documents menu where one would expect to find a Help file, we instead found several documents about apparitions of the Virgin Mary in Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina. These were somewhat interesting but likely of little use to most people seeking an electronic version of the New Testament. The program has a few extra features that are barely worth mentioning. Users can create their own bookmarks, select from three text sizes, and utilize a notepad. These features don't being to make up for the program's irritating interface. The Holy Bible - New Testament is free. It comes as a ZIP file but uninstalls cleanly. We do not recommend this program; there are many other superior Bible programs out there.
