The Computer Cookbook stores your recipe collection in a FileMaker database, but fortunately its main window is more appealing with colorful and clearly labeled buttons for most major functions. The program is preloaded with 15 recipes, but you can easily add your own or modify and resize ingredients of existing dishes. The e-mail feature was also a nice addition. Although you can search and sort recipes based on name, category, cuisine, or food group, printing options are disabled during trial. Unfortunately, The Computer Cookbook lacks features, such as a meal planner, shopping list manager, or nutritional information, that are commonly found in similar applications in the market. Even so, this application has most of the basics down and can be used by any cooking enthusiast.
