Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffJuly 25, 2015There are many ways to play Sudoku, the addictive number puzzle that took the world by storm a few years ago. Whether you're playing on paper, online, or on your desktop, Sudoku promises a fun challenge. Dream Sudoku is a basic desktop version of the game, and although it's pretty bare-bones as far as features are concerned, it's just as enjoyable as ever. The game's interface is simple, with the typical Sudoku grids arranged on a wood-grain background. Players simply click on each square to enter a number. If you're not totally sure you're right, the game allows users to enter provisional numbers in a small box in the corner of each square. Players can save and load games if they can't be finished in one sitting. And that's pretty much the extent of what Dream Sudoku does. There are no settings, options, or Help file. If you don't already know how to play Sudoku, don't expect instructions here. Nor should you expect to be able to change the difficulty level of the puzzles, turn the sound effects off, or do many of the other things that are de rigueur for most games. Dream Sudoku is moderately attractive and entirely functional, but it's quite sparse when it comes to features.Dream Sudoku is free to try, but the trial version disables the save and load features, and there's also a nag screen. The program installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users who don't mind paying for an extremely no-frills version of Sudoku.
