Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffJune 16, 2015Although this half-baked game may at first launch attract your attention with its techno music tracks and nice 3D faces in game menus, you will soon get frustrated with awful controls and poor graphics of combat. International Paintball Extreme is a game where you control a team of up to 7 fighters equipped with paint guns. You can issue movement and shooting orders to each member of your squad. The goal is to shoot all soldiers in the opposing team and to save yours. This could be just a task of proper aiming, but the tactical part appears due to trees scattered on the field. Unfortunately, your soldiers as well as the opponent s soldiers, and the trees are depicted by plain circles with numbers. This ugly look is not the main problem, though. What really sucks is the control system. Your mouse can only show a destination where you wish to move or shoot with currently selected soldier. To select another soldier you can t click on him, as your RTS intuition would tell. Instead, you have to hit a number key on your keyboard (for instance, 4 for fourth soldier). In fact, during our testing period we did not manage to do a single successful shot at an enemy. While we were looking for the key to select a soldier, that soldier would already be dead. The game lets you issue orders in pause, but the pause time is very limited, and after you resume the game a long time would pass before you can pause again. We may suppose that proficient players would not have such difficulties, but without a tutorial or at least a few easy training rounds International Painball Extreme is painful and frustrating for a new player. The only positive sides are good looking 3D models of your soldiers with beautiful faces, which, however are displayed only in menus and not on the battlefield. Add to the cons long nag screens and annoying pop ups telling that this is a demo, and you get an unplayable game. A lot of work is to be done here.
