Freeride Earth requires no real installation process to speak of; you simply extract all the game files to a folder, then click the EXE to begin playing. Since this program only provides one mountain on which to shred, your goal is simply to achieve the highest score possible by using the space bar and the arrow keys to pull off jumps, spins, and tricks. You start with a very short amount of time on the clock, so you also must take care to collect the bright blue tokens that will extend your ride. The minimal help files don't explain how many points a certain trick scores, so you'll probably want to experiment. The 3D graphics may not knock hard-core gamers out cold, but most other folks will find them more than suitable. Our biggest gripe about Freeride Earth is its total lack of features; you can't even turn off the sound effects or choose to play with your mouse. Besides that, we can't complain much about this free game and think it makes a surprisingly addictive time killer.
