With origins in an even older game called Halma, Chinese Checkers allows up to six people to play around a star-shaped board. The killing here is purely metaphorical; your task is to move all your marbles into the opposing triangle point as if they were troops on a battlefield. The graphics are not stunning, but you can change the background. No music distracts you from the meditative nature of the game. Novices will appreciate the Undo feature and hints, while more advanced players can use the timer and statistics to improve their games.
