Backgammon Deluxe struggles with an unattractive interface and fairly clunky controls. While you can customize the color of the board and background, you can't manipulate gammon colors or shapes. The graphics are blocky and basic. We were frustrated by the unnecessary additional clicks while rolling the die. To roll, you click the "roll die" button; but to move, you have to click the die again, and then click the gammon you want to advance. Overall, backgammon fans may enjoy this program for its simplicity, but there are plenty of online options that may prove more pleasing to the eye and easier to play.
