When you fire up AirHockey 3D, you'll see a graphically rich air hockey table floating in outer space. The program offers several variations of air hockey depending on what kind of challenge you're looking for, although all three modes boast intense, lightning-quick play. Classic mode pits you in a one-on-one match with the computer. The Arcade option spices things up by adding multiple pucks that behave in different ways, while Tournament mode lets you keep competing until you lose. The demo version disables many of the advanced features, but most users should be satisfied with the available customization options, which include the ability to disable the commentary and energetic soundtrack, configure the colors of the puck and paddles, add a shadow effect, and adjust the mouse sensitivity.
