As in the original, the object is to move an army of differently ranked pieces around a board and capture the opponent's flag. The catch is you can't see which of your opponent's pieces are which. When one piece attacks another, the higher-ranked piece wins and the identity of both is revealed. New options in WebStratego include making all the pieces visible, keeping them invisible even during an attack, and giving players a chance to trade earned points for new units. The game offers a four-player option as well as the traditional two-player. The map graphics have greatly improved from previous versions. WebStratego has one of the most active Stratego communities around, so you won't have trouble finding a game. The $6.99-per-month subscription fee and the lack of an AI option are a bit discouraging, but Stratego fiends will love being able to start a good battle at the drop of a plumed hat.
