It comes with two variants, a classic mah-jongg game and a beat-the-clock, arcade-style version, both with three levels of difficulty. The graphics are quite good, with three colorful, well-drawn tile sets and 25 tile layouts. The tiles are relatively small, however, so large adjoining stacks sometimes make them hard to see. The background music mixes Chinese strings with a mellow electronica beat. It's a catchy combination, though it loops fairly quickly, and you can't help but tire of it eventually; it's one of the few flaws in this otherwise solid offering. We liked Mahjongg Masters' attention to detail, such as the digital timer that appears when you mouse over the analog game clock. The one-hour trial provides a great work break, though the $30 registration price is a bit expensive, even for one of the better mah-jongg games on the market.
