Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffNovember 7, 2008Despite a couple of small issues, this pleasant platformer seems as if it will delight younger gamers. In Fatman Adventures, you control a small, rotund character that looks more like a blob than an actual man. Your job is to navigate the various platforms and hazards to collect all the gems on the boards while avoiding or fighting your enemies. We don't have many complaints about the colorful cartoon-style graphics, though Fatman is very tiny, which often makes him tough to see. Also, on the few boards we played, there weren't very many foes to be found, and the ones that were there didn't seem particularly aggressive. Happily, Fatman Adventures offers a decent set of features, including the ability to play in windowed mode, reconfigure the control keys, and adjust the volume of the sound effects and music. Besides the somewhat skimpy five-level trial, the biggest problem we found with this game is its 43MB footprint, which seems excessive considering the standard 2D graphics. Still, those who enjoy classic platform games such as Super Mario Bros. are likely to enjoy Fatman Adventures for a level or two.
