Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffFebruary 12, 2008This customized version of Internet Explorer has links to all things eBay, but it seems like a simple toolbar would be an easier option for users who already have IE loaded. The unimaginatively but aptly named Internet Explorer 7 for eBay.com has a two-part installation, even if you already have IE 7 on your computer. The browser is automatically installed first, and then you'll need to restart your computer. The eBay toolbar is installed as soon as your PC reboots. All of your existing information from your previous version of IE--bookmarks, toolbars, and so on--is transferred over. The simple eBay toolbar lets you search the eBay site, or quickly link to your account or other eBay sites. It's easy to add or remove more than a dozen buttons to customize the toolbar. Some of the notable options include buying and selling-related alerts, so you can know when you are outbid or receive a question on one of your items. Several security options are found on the toolbar's Account Guard menu, including reporting suspicious sites and changing your eBay passwords. In addition to the toolbar, there are links added to the Favorites menu for eBay, Skype, PayPal, and specific eBay pages like Community and BuyHub. If you're an active eBay user and don't have the latest version of Internet Explorer, this is a one-stop browser for all eBay activities. Those who are already running IE 7 might be annoyed at the required installation of the browser.
