Downloading the program isn't enough, you have to find and drag the shortcut button to the toolbar. The drab interface is totally confusing, and we had to consult the how-to guide under the Options menu just to get started. Unfortunately, the how-to guide isn't an easy read and at times confused our testers more than it helped. If you're still hanging in there, the payoff finally comes. With a swift click of a button, you can switch back and forth between a direct connection to the Internet or a proxy setup. The Edit option on the drop-down menu lets you change the settings of the proxy server to allow or block certain Web sites. Once again, you're on your own when it comes to changing the settings as the user guide is light on explaining this feature as well. Those not familiar with proxy settings should stay away. Otherwise, once you get past the initial setup, this freeware turns out to be fairly effective.
