Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffJanuary 12, 2007For a no-frills Web browser, this free version may fit the bill, but you won't be able to alter its home page until you register. Slick Internet Browser offers just the essentials: a field for entering a URL, and five standard buttons: Go (to launch the URL you enter); Stop; Forward; Back; and Options. The last of these buttons allows you to register, view or purge your browsing history, and set bookmarks. The search feature lacks any appeal at all; in our tests, it never produced satisfactory results. The browser's home page, which you can't change unless you register, is cluttered with a variety of banners and ads, both graphic and text. The browser minimizes to the system tray instead of the taskbar, which may confuse novices.Even with its quirks, users who want a fast, bare-bones browser may find this one just right, but other users who rely on a variety of toolbar features may want to pass up Slick Internet Browser.
