Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffSeptember 28, 2007It seems like there's a new Firefox add-on created every minute, so users have to be choosy about giving up valuable toolbar real estate. While PHP Lookup effectively leads users to a Web site for term explanations, it takes up more room than we'd like.PHP Lookup adds another toolbar to your Firefox browser. There's no Help file, but any user interested in PHP will have the skills to operate this search box. Searching for a detailed function explanation is a mere matter of entering a term into PHP Lookup's search box. The add-on opens a PHP.net Web page containing the search term, although, depending on the term, sometimes the results are for the specific function and sometimes the return was a general information page. The search worked fine, but testers' biggest complaint was how much space the toolbar took up. It's small, but there's no method to change the search box size, or to move it to sit on another toolbar. It's free and takes you to the information you need, but we wished that PHP Lookup's search function could be easily added to the default Firefox search tool instead of adding another toolbar to the browser.
