Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffFebruary 4, 2008In the world of instant news cycles and proliferating blogs, a good RSS newsreader can be a necessity. This download is aimed at people who aren't looking for a full-blown reader, but still want to keep up on the latest headlines. It installs as a toolbar for Internet Explorer, and then displays the latest 25 headlines from a user's RSS feeds. However, even with these limited aims, we have some concerns. It provides no way of reading article abstracts, instead opening the entire article if a user clicks a headline. The interface lacks a few obvious features, like an automatic way to subscribe to a page's newsfeed by clicking an RSS link. The program also suffers from a few stability issues, including freezing for about 10 seconds when adding a new link. The download may be well-suited to people who want to follow a few feeds without leaving IE, but anyone who spends much time with RSS will want a more powerful tool.
