Despite its unimaginative name and interface, Page Update Checker's performance was impressive.Right-click on any Web page and a tabbed interface appears. It's not much to look at, but its pretty self-explanatory. You can easily schedule how often you want to check a page for updates, and, if you like, you can add a sound to the update notifications. The program comes preset with three checkers--Basic, Filter 0.3, and ebay Bid Price 0.3--but you can add your own by either importing it or creating it using javascript. A pop-up window duly appeared when test pages changed, but we were impressed that Page Update Checker went a step further and conveniently displayed change details in the window.
