Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffMay 10, 2006This freeware tool lets you keep simple notes without any complex steps involved, but it's not as competitive as other applications in this category. Live Notes doesn't install to your PC. Instead, it directs you to the Microsoft Gadget's Web page, where you can add the program to your online gadgets. The Live Notes page includes a simple field to type your notes with a familiar yellow icon to create a new note. Notes are automatically saved online in a simple list that includes the first line or lines of the note. You can change the note's appearance under Settings, with options for colors, fonts, and font sizes. Unlike similar apps, you can't organize your notes or view more than one note at a time. The only management tool is the Delete button, which removes selected notes. There's no option to save notes offline. Live Notes is a simple and inexpensive option for users who don't mind saving their work online, but intermediate and advanced users will probably want more features than this simple gadget offers.
