Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffJanuary 10, 2006This Internet Explorer add-on captures screenshots, but unlike more robust programs it only grabs what's visible on the monitor. IE Catcher adds an additional button on Internet Explorer's toolbar that allows users to quickly capture a Web page screenshot with just one click. Images are immediately displayed in a viewer or image-editing window. Limited tools allow you to zoom in and out, resize, or remove scroll bars from the screenshot. Images can be saved to a user-specified directory. However, while you can understand the purpose of the few available buttons on the Save Image To dialog box, the labels oddly contain strings of question marks, and the program only supports BMP and JPEG formats. While other screenshot programs will capture the entire Web page, IE Catcher was only able to capture the frame visible on the monitor. You also won't find any other extras, such as date and time stamps. IE Catcher works, in its limited fashion, but it doesn't stand out among the many programs to capture Web screenshots.
