You have two options: Create Icon Instantly and Create Icon With Options. Since the program only works with LiveJournal, you'll have to create a LiveJournal account if you don't already have one. We first tested the program by clicking on an image and selecting the option to create an icon instantly. We were quickly taken to the publisher's Web site to upload the image, but the site was very confusing and it took us a few tries to get the hang of it. We then chose the second option, to create an icon with options. The options were few. You can crop, rotate, and add a border or text to the image. Both images that we tested were uploaded to our LiveJournal account.El Jay Icon Maker's usefulness seems very limited overall. It's free, but that's about the only thing that the program has going for it, and it's just not enough.
