During installation, you choose whether to place Guru News Ticker in your IE toolbar or in the taskbar at the bottom of your desktop. From there, you can select what type of headlines you want. You can click a passing headline to open a browser window that shows the story, or you can mouse over the headline for a small and scrollable drop-down window. We encountered a few script errors while running the program but nothing that made it quit or freeze. We liked the instant access to news items, the configurable fonts and colors, the feed options for different types of news, and the ability to add our own RSS feeds. The 20-day demo limitation is a bit short for our tastes but still gives you enough time to check out the program. If you want headlines scrolling past your work space or browser window all day, Guru News Ticker provides flexibility in both story options and appearance.
