Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffNovember 27, 2006Everything about this supposedly free software is a disappointment, from the amateurish design to the faulty functionality. Daily opens with a login screen. You're allowed to use the guest ID and password, and have the option of connecting to the Internet or working offline. It turns out to be not much a choice, because the program consistently failed to connect online.Working offline, we did get to see Daily's amateurish interface. It starts with simple elements to choose the date and number of items to display. You get a single category, World, and the weather is displayed only for Moscow. Changing location in the Tools menu consistently failed to alter this default setting. Without a successful Internet connection, choosing to load Weather, News, and the inexplicable All Data merely displays news dated from 2006. The headlines and summary identify no news sources.Prominently displayed on Daily's interface is a summary of your balance and date of payment. The brief publisher's description directs you to its site to buy more categories, but provides no purchase guidance. The site is merely a mix of sponsor links and weirdly assorted categories. The news categories are all sports related and merely lead to sponsored sites.A free shell of a program, Daily provides absolutely no value and offers no method or compelling reason to pay for additional functionality.
