Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffDecember 21, 2011Too many cache-cleaning programs say they are deleting your cache entries without actually showing you what's being deleted. CacheViewer lets you see the specific files in your cache; although, we would have liked to have seen a more comprehensive deletion feature. You can easily access the program through your Tools menu, but a hotkey combo or a toolbar shortcut would have made nice additions. The interface window lists the Key, Size, Device, and date the cache entry was fetched. The memory and disk space for each entry also is revealed. As we selected a specific entry, we were able to view the physical entry in a small window, along with its detailed information. The one major feature that the program was lacking is a clear cache option. You can delete each entry by right-clicking on it, but you can only do one entry at a time. We were able to use the Clear Private Data feature that comes with Firefox, but it would have been nice to have it all right there in one window.Still, this is a great program for anyone tired of being in the dark when it comes to their cache cleaner. We recommend using this freeware program in conjunction with your favorite cache cleaner.
