Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffSeptember 18, 2003At first, QM Nooze's small purple window looks like a cool way to grab news stories quickly. With only four buttons, you can click to get a list of channels, find the headlines you want, then click to visit the news site via your default browser. Though the quick and dirty concept is great, the execution is less than stellar. The small interface is divided into two windows, with the top listing available news sites and the bottom offering a small summary of the story and the link. The summaries often have Web code mixed in, making them difficult to read. Some of the story links worked, while others brought us to a Page Not Found screen (even though a bit of research showed us the story still existed). Worse, you can't add your own feeds--the only option is to drop a link into a suggestion box to send it to the developers. QM Nooze has a great idea: Provide the news quickly using a small memory footprint without the need for extraneous tools. However, due to small glitches and the inability to add feeds, we recommend you wait for the next update.
