The plug-in's title, Save As Image, almost describes how to use the tool. After installation, you'll find a new context menu option on your browser's window. The utility captures an entire window, a frame, or a selection from either. There's no Help file, but experienced users should quickly pick up program operation.You don't need to initially select the part of the Web page you want to save, which may cause novice users a bit of trouble. Newbies shouldn't worry, though, because you can specify what area of the page you want after opening Save As Image's plain-but-functional interface. Just right-click and choose Save As Image to access it.By default, the whole page is captured and displayed in a large viewing pane. Settings are limited to adding a red, white, green or blue tinge to the page, selecting the X and Y axis coordinates, choosing the format (PNG or JPEG), and choosing one of four quality options, from low to best. Those not comfortable or familiar with inputting coordinates can place their mouse on the viewing pane and, with a mouse scroll, highlight the section of the page they want to save. One click then saves the desired section or the whole page.Save As Image doesn't have advanced features to crop, rotate, or otherwise edit images. It simply grabs and saves quickly and effectively. This free plug-in is useful, fast, and easy to operate for any Firefox user.
