Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffApril 2, 2007Tidy Mail may look ancient, but the small freeware application can oust extra spaces and '>' characters from your e-mail almost faster than you can paste the offending text in. Just copy the text, usually a muddle e-mail forward, and paste it into the application using hot keys or by pressing the 'Paste' button. Then click 'Tidy' to remove all '>' characters, extra line spacing, and superfluous tabs and spaces. There's another button to copy the text back to the Clipboard for future pasting. Tidy Mail leaves all hyperlinks, but unfortunately does not wipe out extra characters such as '#' and '!'. We'd also like to see an 'Undo' button and a browser component that lets you eliminate extra characters from your Webmail without manually transferring the text.
