Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffJune 29, 2007This vanishingly small program inserts random quotes into your Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger, or Eudora e-mail messages. Installing Quotes creates a system tray icon from which you access all the program's features. Hovering your cursor over the icon displays the current quote; you can cycle to the next one by clicking. Right-clicking opens the menu that lets you delete the current quote from the library, add the contents of the clipboard to the library, select a refresh interval, choose a quote category, and edit the appearance of your SIG file. The quotes generally are well chosen, and you can open the libraries as text files and edit them manually. The help file cleared up all our questions. You have to manually remove the SIG file from your e-mail program after you uninstall the freeware or it will continue to show the last quote. Also, we couldn't get it to work with Web-based e-mail accounts. Regardless, with its ease of use and wide selection of sayings, Quotes suits home or business use.
