It uses the Microsoft default webcam hardware Windows drivers and checks the webcam in streaming mode not a still screenshot, then adds it to a list then selects your default webcam from the list. And checks if webcam is enabled or not for you? Then use the disable hardware button after in Menu items list, the status bar shows if the Hardware is safe in "Green" or "Unsafe" in red color?
