Honkai: Star Rail 2026 Review — The Turn-Based RPG That Never Ages

As a turn-based game it looks old next to action RPGs; as a narrative experience it is the best-written gacha ever made for phones — both statements still true in 2026.

Story remains the reason

Arc 3.x brings villains you understand and side quests that sometimes outshine the main line. Nothing else in the genre comes close for story-first players.

Honest power creep

3.x units systematically outpower 1.x. Old DPS still clear Memory of Chaos with deeper relic investment. Healthy F2P: one meta DPS, one premium support, skip the rest.

It is the only major gacha you can pause mid-battle. Still the best phone turn-based RPG. 8.9/10.
