Every act has people stuck in silver with hundreds of hours. The problem is almost never aim — it is decision making. These eight habits change the game.
1. Pick two agents
Specialisation beats flexibility in solo queue. Master one agent in your main role plus a backup. Two well-played agents beat six average ones.
2. Learn one line per map
One well-placed smoke wins a round. Memorise one useful line on each map in the pool and you are already above your rank’s average.
3. Check the minimap every three seconds
Most silver deaths happen because nobody noticed an enemy leaving the map.
4. Do not force a site alone
Entering first without information is the fastest way to hand the enemy a 4v5.
5. Team economy
Buy together. A solo half-buy ruins the next round. If the team saves, save.
6. Short comms
“Two B, one with spike” beats five sentences. Fast information wins rounds.
7. Mute early
Focus is a resource. If someone starts flaming, mute and move on.
8. Stop after two losses in a row
Tilt causes long losing streaks. Step away for 30 minutes instead of queueing angry.
Apply this for a full act and your rank moves — no new mouse required.
